The AMANI Project is an unapologetically ambitious initiative that aims to incubate, nurture and develop athletes from East African regions with a pedigree in distance running to transcend a different endurance sport - the discipline of cycling. To achieve these goals, the AMANI Project is divided into three key pillars of focus:
London
We acknowledge that cycling can be an elitist sport, and we’re doing what we can to change that, and improve representation for minority groups. We have a diversity and inclusion working group who are dedicated to ensuring the club is accessible for women and non-binary people of colour, trans women and non-binary people, and is disability-friendly.

upCYCLE is a Brixton CIC founded to give young people from disadvantaged areas the opportunity to positively engage with meaningful nonacademic learning in a safe space and develop positive aspirations. We do this by providing refurbished bikes, 1-2-1 mentoring, bike repair classes and cycle skill sessions.
Our mission is to increase racial equality in cycling and wider society by creating pathways and empowering young people from ethnic minority groups through sport, while removing barriers and providing opportunities for them to make a meaningful change in their lives.

We educate about the lands we ride on to highlight the Indigenous ecosystems and communities who have stewarded Turtle Island since time immemorial. We seek to raise awareness and fundraise for issues impacting Native people. We work to create space for Native cyclists who range from daily commuters, bike racers to bikepackers. Our goal is to get more Natives on bikes while providing support through mutual aid, outreach, and education.

Cycle Sisters is an award-winning charity which inspires and enables Muslim women to cycle.
Our journey started in 2016 when our founder, Sarah Javaid, set up our first Muslim women’s community cycle group in Waltham Forest. Our first group started with just Sarah, her friend and sisters in law. Since then, we've grown to have multiple groups and support hundreds of women to cycle!
We are passionate about ensuring that Muslim women have access to cycling without having to compromise cultural or religious values.
We have developed a successful model of volunteer-led cycle groups which create a fun, supportive and empowering environment to help overcome barriers such as:

The Women of Colour Cycling Collective is a hub for connecting minority ethnic women and non-binary people across the UK and reduce barriers in our sport. Our mission is to inspire, support, empower, and motivate our members to love cycling and challenge themselves (and the status quo).
We also support minority ethnic women and non-binary with reducing financial barriers to the sport and deliver projects aimed at bringing more women of colour into cycling.

Bright Path Collective is a DC-based multi-sport program focused on offering free movement events, clinics and classes to the local BIPOC community. We partner with local athletes and leaders to uplift their work in community while providing opportunities that may have a financial barrier to entry or simply don’t seem accessible. Our goal is to create connections and build community while healing the body and mind. Bright Path Collective was launched in May 2024 and is sponsored by Strava and Arc'teryx DC.
